Wallpaper symbols and their meaning
Wallpaper icons provide information on how to hang, wash and remove wallpaper. For the purchase of wallpaper, you should check out these wallpaper symbols. Grandeco lists them for you in an overview.
In addition to the wide range of wallpapers, each wallpaper label also contains many icons. These symbols provide technical specifications and information on how to hang the wallpaper. Before purchasing, it's best to take a look at these icons.
Also check the batch number (or production number) before purchasing. In the development of wallpaper it is almost impossible to produce exactly the same colors with every print. Make sure that the batch numbers of all rolls are the same.

1. Applying the pattern (while wallpapering)
When applying the wallpaper you don't have to take the design on the wallpaper into account.
Straight correlation (or adjoining correlation)
Similar designs must be glued next to each other at the same height. The pattern repetition (e.g. 50 cm) indicates how high the pattern is on the wallpaper.
Similar designs must always be shifted to the next line. The number next to this icon indicates how many centimetres the pattern will change by.
Every second strip must be glued in the opposite direction.
2. Applying the glue
Apply glue to wallpaper
Glue is applied to the back of the wallpaper.
Apply glue to wall
Glue is applied to the wall, and not to the wallpaper.
3. Water resistance and washability of the wallpaper
During placement, this wallpaper is very easily washable. Wet glue can be removed with a damp sponge.
Light soiling can be removed with a damp sponge.
Stains or dirt can be removed with a light soap solution and a sponge.
The wallpaper is scrubbable. Soiling can be removed with a mild abrasive or soft brush.
4. Colour fastness
Good light resistance
The wallpaper tolerates sunlight, it is colourfast and is therefore less likely to fade.
5. Removal of the wallpaper
Can be removed completely dry
When renovating, the wallpaper can be removed dry from the wall without leaving any residue.
Detachable, can be removed dry
When renovating, the top layer of the wallpaper can be removed dry. The bottom layer remains on the wall as an underlay (e.g. the same as nonwoven or vinyl wallpaper).
Can be removed wet
Soak the wall thoroughly with water and wallpaper remover. Then you can remove the wallpaper with a putty knife.
Now you're ready to start your wallpaper project!
