From Catwalk to Wall: Paul Moneypenny’s New Designs Revealed

When Paul visited Grandeco again, it felt instantly familiar. “It’s my second home,” he says enthusiastically. But this time, it was extra special: his latest designs are officially in production. Leopard and Abstract Texture are no longer just creative ideas, they are tangible statements on a roll.

During an exclusive interview, we had an inspiring conversation about creativity, courage, interior trends, and even wallpaper dance moves.

A collection that’s 100% Paul

What makes this collection so special? “It’s very much me,” says Paul. He had the freedom to think big, without compromise. The result is bold, expressive, and full of character. Dark, deep neutral tones with impact form the foundation, finished with texture and subtle metallic accents that catch the light in a glamorous way.

Leopard: an iconic print with depth

The Leopard print is undeniably a showstopper. Inspired by fashion trends on the catwalk, Paul translates the popular leopard motif into interior design. What makes this version unique is the layering: a matte background, tactile texture, and a hint of metallic that creates a subtle shimmer, both in natural daylight and evening lighting.

His personal favorite? The dark version of Leopard. “This is exactly the kind of design I would immediately put on my own wall,” he laughs.

And where would he most like to see the design? Surprisingly, not just on a large wall, but also in smaller spaces. Think hallways, bathrooms, or even the ceiling, the “fifth wall.” According to Paul, in compact spaces, you can go all out for maximum impact.

Abstract Texture: from cushion to wall

Abstract Texture originated from Paul’s own cushion collection. The rich fabrics and colors of his cushions were so popular that customers wondered: why not bring this texture to the wall?

That’s how Abstract Texture came to life, creating a total experience when paired with his cushions. The combination of neutral undertones with a pronounced texture makes this design extremely versatile. Whether your interior features gray, beige, brown, or black, Abstract Texture adapts effortlessly, bringing warmth and depth to any room.

Texture is central to the collection. Paul drew inspiration from linen, tweed, and velvet. “You can never have too much texture in a room,” he says. Wallpaper with real texture invites touch and instantly adds character.

Bigger, Bolder, More Personal

If Paul were to create a design that purely reflects his personality, it would be an explosion of color: fuchsia, magenta, petrol blue, metallics—bold, floral, almost neon. “Go big or go home,” he laughs. A large-scale mural is high on his wishlist, where he can fully unleash his creativity.

And his ultimate wallpaper dance move? Anyone who follows Paul on social media knows he loves a little celebratory dance when he’s excited. A roll of wallpaper in hand? Expect a spontaneous shimmy or a glamorous spin.

Passion as a Source of Energy

What gives him energy on busy days? Simple: a love for design. For Paul, designing doesn’t feel like work. He surrounds himself day and night with color, patterns, and inspiration. “I’m lucky enough to get to do my hobby every day.
