Grandeco: Robin, how did you first come into contact with virus-killing wallcoverings?
Robin: “I saw a video in which Grandeco presented their virus-killing wallpaper. It really stuck with me. In a physiotherapy practice, many people pass through every day, often with reduced immunity. Anything that can contribute to a healthier environment immediately catches my attention.”
Grandeco: What specifically appealed to you about the use of Atmosphere?
Robin: “The idea that a wall can actively contribute to hygiene really stood out to me. Atmosphere does more than just look beautiful and tactile: thanks to the specially designed coating, viruses and bacteria floating in the air are neutralised when they reach the wall. It adds an extra layer of protection, without patients or therapists having to do anything.”
Grandeco: You chose to apply this wallpaper in the waiting room. Why there specifically?
Robin: “The waiting room is the first point of contact with the practice. People sometimes sit there feeling tense or in pain while waiting. I wanted to create an environment that radiates calm, while also being functional. Aesthetics and health had to go hand in hand here.”

Grandeco: And that’s where Roomblush comes in?
Robin: “Absolutely. The colourful Roomblush print from the Daydreamers collection gave exactly what I was looking for: warmth, colour and a human touch. It immediately breaks the classic, clinical look that people sometimes associate with healthcare spaces.”
Grandeco: Were you worried that ‘functional’ might come at the expense of design?
Robin: “On the contrary. What positively surprised me is that you can’t see the virus-killing aspect at all. It simply looks like a beautiful, expressive interior. Only when you tell the story do people realise that the wall also actively contributes to their health.”
Grandeco: How do patients react to the renovated waiting room?
Robin: “Very spontaneously. People say they feel more at ease and that the space looks fresh and cheerful. Some even specifically ask about the wallpaper. When I explain that it’s also virus-killing, you really notice their appreciation. It builds trust.”
